Mr. Hirayama started his career at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (formerly Sanwa Bank) and held positions in the International Business Department and M&A team, among other roles. In 2002 he moved to MBIA Insurance Corp in New York where he specialized in public finance for power companies, real estate securitization, and the structuring of Credit Default Swaps (CDS) and Collateral Debt Obligations (CDO). In 2008 he joined the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) as a founding member of the overseas investment and loan division, where he managed the loan and investment portfolio for energy-related projects, including renewables, and US & European real estate worth over JPY400 billion. He later served as Deputy Director of the Asset Finance & Urban Development Department where he focused on lending and investment in the real estate, construction and railway sectors. In 2016 he joined Octave Japan as Managing Director to oversee its asset management book for renewable energy and real estate, with an AUM of 180 MW (= JPY72 billion) for renewables. In September 2021, he co-founded Regenes Inc. where he serves as Representative Director for the Company. He is a graduate of Keio University’s Faculty of Law and holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Mr. Matsuda began his career at Nomura Real Estate Development (NRED) before being seconded to NRED’s real estate securitization (CMBS) and fund-of-funds affiliate Nomura Real Estate Capital Management (NRECM). At NRECM, Mr. Matsuda’s focus was on institutional investor sales, and portfolio management. After a stint in corporate planning at a PV module technology start-up, he joined Sihnzen Energy Inc. as their third employee in 2012. As a founding member, his initial role was handling project development, financing & construction management. Additionally, he set up the asset management division of the company and was responsible for growing the division to oversee projects with 140MW of renewable assets valued over JPY53 billion. In the last 3 years, Mr. Matsuda ran corporate planning, where he oversaw group management strategy, business planning and capital restructuring/workouts for the group. In September of 2021 he co-founded Regenes Inc. and currently serves as a Director of the company. He is a graduate of Waseda University’s Faculty of Political Science and Economics.

Mr. Kusuda has over 10 years of experience in the development and finance of renewable energy projects, including the development of over 30 large-scale solar power generation facilities in his position as the head of renewable energy business for Japan Investment Adviser (TSE prime listed, code 7172). Mr. Kusuda also has over 30 years of experience in renewable energy, commercial real estate, and structured finance at major financial institutions, including Mitsubishi UFJ Bank (former Sanwa Bank), Deutsche Bank, and Lehman Brothers, prior to joining Regenes in 2024. Mr. Kusuda’s major achievements include (i) structuring of the first Japanese CMBS transaction backed with YK-TK (current GK-TK) / Real-estate Trust / Limited-recourse loan structure in 1999, (ii) securitization of prime residential mortgage loan portfolio in total amount of approx. JPY700 billion, and (iii) establishment of Libertus Housing Loan, a subsidiary of Lehman Brothers specializing in mortgage loan for investment property to be repackaged into RMBS and he acted as its Representative Director. Mr. Kusuda holds a Bachelor of Economics and Juris Doctor from Waseda University and an MBA and Mastère Spécialisé from HEC, France.
